Ingredients that work
Ingredient fear is real. Questioning what’s actually in the products that go onto your skin is important. After all, it is your biggest organ and the one that’s most exposed to the outside world. But the great product paradox is that ‘clean’ doesn’t always mean credible, and safe ingredients that truly work are often unjustly left out. It’s why we believe in transparency – about our products, their clinical backing and why we’re proud to include them. Knowing what to look out for on the back of a bottle is powerful – you know what you're choosing and why you’re choosing it. Fear free.
The science-backed standouts
Aluminum ZIrconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly
The ingredient that dominates the Sweat Care conversation. It works by forming a temporary gel plug in the eccrine sweat ducts, reducing sweat output at the source. It dissolves and clears naturally. An effect currently unmatched by any plant-based alternative.
It's well understood, tightly regulated and has been used for decades with a strong safety record. So for us, it’s a deliberate choice for people who want real sweat control, not just odour cover-up.
Fear around aluminium has been largely fuelled by marketing, not science. We’re guided by research from Cancer Council and PubMed that show no conclusive link between the use of aluminium-containing products and an increased risk of negative health outcomes.
In fact, more aluminium is consumed daily from food than deodorants. Not a scary statistic, but one that shows how little aluminium exposure anti-sweat products actually give.
The influence of ‘clean beauty’.
With a strong movement towards clean skin and Sweat Care, there has been great change in how we as consumers consider what’s in the products we use. A positive and necessary shift in awareness.
But this shift has also led to broad, generalised ingredient fear that doesn’t take concentration and context into consideration. We believe that not everything needs to be excluded, but everything does need to be justified. It’s why we’re transparent about what we use, why we’ve chosen it and how it will help active people manage sweat. That way – you get to decide.
