The 3-step system for effective Sweat Care
Sweat Care works best as a system, not a single product. But that doesn’t mean it needs to be complex.
Most of us were taught to use products like a bandaid – something to grab after the discomfort. But the results come from routine, not reaction. That’s why we believe in a simple, effective Sweat Care plan.
Step 1: Cleanse
The step
Fresh skin is the foundation. Clean skin means other products can actually do their job.
The science
Heavy sweating can temporarily raise skin pH, giving odour-causing bacteria exactly what they need to thrive. Exfoliation removes dead skin and sebum to ‘reset’ the skin.
Chemically, using a wash that contains salicylic and citric acids helps restore skin to being mildly acidic – so any upcoming sweat is less likely to smell. Physically, gritty yet gentle bamboo extract enhances surface clearance – creating the perfect environment for ingredients to penetrate the skin.

Step 2: Protect
The step
The protection phase. Your products become your armour and start their hard work – before the sweat even starts.
The science
The nervous system sends signals to sweat glands before your body temperature even starts to rise (explaining why we often sweat before something stressful) – so early preparation is key. If we wait until after the moment to reach for the antiperspirant, sweat ducts are already open and active. But if we apply a product containing active ingredients to dry, non-active skin – they have time to do the hard work.
Look for aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly that plugs the eccrine ducts, the odour-control trio of rhamnose, glucuronic acid and glucose and dimethicone – the clever silicone that creates a skin-conditioning barrier to keep other ingredients working for longer.
The solution
Petrichor Antiperspirant Deodorant
Step 3: Refresh
The step
Even with the best cleanse and protect steps possible, sweat is natural – especially when you push your body. Science-backed products help you refresh on-the-go – so odour is covered up and targeted at the source.
The science
The antiperspirant has done its work, but physical activity can mean surface-level bacteria. Popular body sprays smell great, but they’re not technical. Body sprays containing triethyl citrate actively halt the activity of those bacteria to target odour instead of just covering it up.
The solution
Petrichor Deodorising Body Spray
Why this works
More output means more sweat. A consistent routine lets the products do their job, so you can do yours. Petrichor’s three-step Sweat Care system uses science-backed, skin-supportive ingredients that work with your body, not against it.
So all that’s left to do is work up a sweat.
